Who We Are in Thousand Oaks, CA

We're a mold remediation company that works one market: Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village and the Conejo Valley communities next to them.

That's the whole job: we contain mold, remove the materials it has grown into, clean what can be saved and track down the moisture behind it. Most calls come from homeowners who found growth under a sink, on a bathroom ceiling or in the attic after a winter leak, and some from landlords and sellers getting a house ready. You can read how a job runs, start to finish, on our page about mold remediation across Thousand Oaks.

How We Work on Every Job

Every job follows the same order, and the first thing you get from us is paper.

  1. We put the scope in writing. Before any remediation starts, you have the scope and the price on paper: which rooms, which materials and what it costs.
  2. We contain it first. We seal the work area with barriers and run HEPA-filtered negative air before we remove anything, so spores stay in that room and out of the rest of the house.
  3. We remove what the mold has grown into. Drywall, insulation and carpet pad with growth in them come out. Framing and other solid surfaces that can be cleaned get cleaned.
  4. We find the water and write it down. We don't call a job finished until we've found the moisture source and documented it for you. The EPA says that if you clean up mold and don't fix the water problem, the mold will most likely come back.

The EPA says a moldy patch smaller than about 10 square feet, roughly 3 feet by 3 feet, is in most cases a job you can handle yourself, and we'll tell you so on the phone when that's what you describe. The California Department of Public Health also advises against testing the air to decide whether mold needs removing; it says to fix the water, dry or remove damp materials and clean up the mold. So you don't need a lab report before you call. Comparing companies? Our guide to choosing a mold remediation company lists what to ask, and we've also covered whether mold comes back.

Permits and Rules for Mold Work in Thousand Oaks, CA

Most mold jobs inside a home don't touch the structure, but some do, and the city has rules for those.

The City of Thousand Oaks Building & Safety Division issues a separate demolition permit before any portion of a building is razed. The city won't issue it until Public Works approves a debris recycling plan and the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District signs off on Form AB3205. If your scope reaches that point, we'll tell you before work starts, because it changes the schedule.

State law matters too. The California Contractors State License Board raised the minor-work exemption to $1,000 on January 1, 2025, and a contractor license is still required whenever the work needs a permit of any kind.
